Details
Pine, Pinus sylvestris is a species of pine that is native to Eurasia. It ranges from Western Europe to Eastern Siberia, south to the Caucasus Mountains and Anatolia, and north to well inside the Arctic Circle in Scandinavia. In the north of its range, it usually occurs from sea level to 1000 m. In the south of its range it is a high altitude mountain tree growing at an altitude of around 1200 to 2600 m.

It has a combination of short, blue-green leaves and orange-red bark. It grows up to around 35 m in height and has a trunk diameter of around 1 m when mature.
The tallest Pine tree on record is found in Estonia. It stands at 46.6 m tall and is more than 210 years old.
