Hinoki Essential Oil

Details
Chamaecyparis obtusa or commonly known as Japanese cypress, hinoki cypress or hinoki, is a native Japanese species of cypress. It is widely cultivated to obtain its high quality timber and for use as an ornamental plant.

Hinoki is a tree that grows slowly up to 35 m in height and features a trunk diameter of up to 1 m. The bark is dark reddish brown in color and the leaves look like scales. The leaves are usually 2 – 4 mm in length and are bluntly tipped. The cones are spherical with a diameter of 8 – 12 mm and comes with 8 – 12 scales arranged in opposite pairs.
